Greetings from the Executive Director
Welcome to the website of The Samaritan House (TSH) of Orangeburg County, Incorporated!
TSH is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit entity registered in South Carolina. Since re-opening in September 2020, TSH has been blessed by the outpouring of support from the community. Located in the Carolinas between Charleston and Columbia, it is the only residential homeless shelter for adult men, women, and their children in Orangeburg County. TSH provided temporary services to persons in the tri-county area (Orangeburg, Calhoun, and Bamberg). It has also served persons from Charleston, Columbia, Walterboro, and Virginia who relocated to Orangeburg.
TSH is a special place! We are committed to “Changing Lives … Helping People.” No longer do individuals or families in our communities have to travel long distances to receive help --- TSH is open 24/7, and it is local!
As the Executive Director, I thank churches, businesses, civic organizations, local governments, other donors, supporters, and dedicated volunteers who helped re-open TSH and continue giving generously to keep the doors open. It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child, but I say, “it takes a community to maintain a shelter.”
Thank you again for visiting our website. Please share TSH and all its services with your family, friends, and neighbors. From the kindness of our hearts and the compassion of our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers, I know you will be pleased with what we are doing at TSH. I invite you for a visit!
