ELIGIBILITY &
ADMISSION
To receive a bed, individuals may be referred or may make a self-referral. They must also complete an application and go through an intake process.
Bed Fill Criteria
The Samaritan House has a 55-bed capacity that will accommodate 24 females and 31 males in separate dormitory areas.
PRIORITY 1
PRIORITY 2
Individual(s) living in the streets, cars, abandoned buildings, or a place that is not meant for human habitation.
Individual(s) that have been living in an institution for less than 90 days AND was living in a shelter/street immediately before institutionalization.
PRIORITY 3
PRIORITY 4
Referrals from medical providers, law enforcement, agencies, churches, and
community citizens.

To receive a bed:
❖ Individuals must be able to perform all aspects of daily living without assistance. They must be able to bathe and dress themselves. They must sleep in a bunk bed, administer their medications (if any), and come to the dining area for meals.
❖ Individuals must be willing to submit to a SLED background check, drug screening, and screening on the sex offenders' registries (if required).
❖ An individual who has a criminal conviction of sexual assault and is listed on either the National, State, or Local Registry of Sex Offenders is ineligible to stay at The Samaritan House.
